Our supporters

A growing number of people are remembering Cancer Research UK in their Will. They are ordinary people but have done something extraordinary – gifts in Wills, of all sizes, are vital in funding our lifesaving work.

Many people see these gifts as another way of looking after their family and ensuring more lives are saved in the future. Here some of our supporters share what these gifts mean to them.

Share your reasons for leaving a gift in your Will or why you are thinking about it.

Carole and Pete

As Pete’s first wife and my Mum died from cancer, we wanted to ensure the pioneering work of Cancer Research UK carries on and our children and grandchildren benefit from this. My mum lived for 12 years after being diagnosed with breast cancer and she saw four wonderful grandchildren grow up, our legacy to Cancer Research UK is our thank you.

Emily

I think it’s wonderful for anybody to consider leaving a legacy like my Nan did.

Sue

I was so proud when I found out Mum had left a gift to Cancer Research UK in her Will. Now I think one day I may follow in her footsteps.

A Will is the largest cheque any of us will ever write. What better opportunity could any of us have to help a charity like Cancer
Research UK - whose work might one day help future generations
facing cancer?

Andy, Kent

I've decided to leave a gift in my Will. In the long run, I feel it's where I can make the most difference to help people beat cancer, including men like me.

Nick, Stockport

Diana

I see the charity as a very good ‘home’ for my money. I was the lucky recipient of a so called ‘wonderdrug’ and I do want Cancer
Research UK to keep producing successful treatments in the future for others.
